Details: Wonderful book is from the famous auction of the constants of the SS United States held in 1984. The catalog features over 3700 lots with photographs. Very rare catalog from the iconic SS United States cruise ship.
Built between 1950 and 1951, the now retired SS United States is the largest ocean liner constructed entirely in the United States, and the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic in either direction. The ship retains the Blue Riband for the highest average speed since her maiden voyage in 1952, and still holds the title today.
